See the DARO 2.0 SDK overview for the six improvements in performance, revenue optimization, ad demand, size, security, and stability. If you are on the legacy SDK (before 2.0.0), follow this order: update the dashboard → get your Integration Key → update the SDK.

Before you start

Select Start update in the DARO dashboard and complete the dashboard update first. Check the Integration Key for each app and the Ad Unit Keys for the Ad Units you use. If your app supports both Android and iOS, get a separate key for each platform. Updating the dashboard leaves the SDK in your published app unchanged. Build and release an app containing the DARO 2.0 SDK to complete the transition.

Ad Unit compatibility

You can keep existing Ad Units without issuing new IDs. You must still apply SDK configuration and API changes. See the support plan for the legacy SDK (before 2.0.0) support period.

Migration steps

Update the dashboard

Complete the dashboard update and check the apps and Ad Units you will migrate.

Remove legacy key files and settings

Remove daro-key.txt or android-daro-key.txt on Android, ios-daro-key.txt on iOS, and the old integration settings that use them. Follow your platform’s guide for the specific items to remove.

Configure DARO integration tools

Install and apply the DARO plugin or integration tools listed in your platform’s guide. Update any existing plugin configuration for the DARO 2.0 SDK.

Configure the Integration Key and app settings

Add the Integration Key from the dashboard to your project. Android and iOS use different configuration locations, so follow the example for your platform.

Update app-ads.txt

Add the latest app-ads.txt entries provided through the dashboard to your developer website. See the app-ads.txt setup guide for publishing and verification steps.

Update the SDK and release your app

Follow your platform’s guide below to update the SDK and review initialization and the ad formats you use. Verify ad loading, display, and callbacks before releasing your app.

Before releasing

  • Remove old key files and SDK settings, and register your Integration Key.
  • Check that app-ads.txt contains the latest entries.
  • Request ads only after SDK initialization completes.
  • Verify loading, display, dismissal, and other required callbacks for the ad formats you use. Verify reward delivery for rewarded video ads.
  • Test both existing Ad Units and any new Ad Units you added.
